The 2019 winners of the Blue Planet Prize are Prof. Lambin of Belgium and Prof. Diamond of the United States of America. Professor Lambin, by linking remote sensing data and socioeconomic data, has clarified sustainable land use and forest conservation on a global scale. Professor Diamond, based on his experience of fieldwork, has explained the significance of environmental issues in the history of human civilization.
